City Revenues

In the past month:

1) Shaws on Grafton Street was paying $215,000 per year in annual taxes. Once they are closed, I would imagine they would get an different assessed value and a much lower tax bill.

2) City wants to waive $200,000 in fees for a Performing Arts Center that will pay nothing in taxes.

3) Allegiant terminates service at ORH hurting our chances tremendously to turn around the airport and a $200,000 per month loss.

Not a good month for the city's bottom line.

Bill:

4. The City leaves another $8,000+ in Spt on the table in lost jet fuel sales tax.

5. IN Sept the average city employee will will use .8 (per WMRB) sick days x 5,000 employees x $200 per day average city employee compensation = $800,000 lost in Sept.

6. Not be sarcastic, (I would never do that!) but what heck is $200,000 in waived fees for a non profit theatre compared to $800,000 per month in lost employee productivity. I have to wonder how much in free money this theatre troup has already pillaged from Beacon Hill and Washington?

Is this venture another Bijou in the making? Let these so called non profit entrepeneurs pony up their own venture capital for this endeavor.

Next they'll want free parking at garage opposite the old post office. ( CITY STILL OWNS IT??) tHEIR NON PROFIT RATIONALE: ...."WHAT THE HECK, THE GARAGE WILL BE EMPTY ANYWAY"
