Remember the RFP where the city was going to take out a loan to get it ready for a restaurant. Has the bid been awarded?

If this going through Exec Office of Neighborhood servies..........well they are short handed right now.......plus the scuttlebutt was that they were undergoing a review or an audit.
Patience is a virtue when it comes to fulfilling bid terms and deadlines here in Worc.
In the private sector if you' re involved in commercail construction, there is a little thingie called a performance bond. Think of it as Viagra for E.D. (Economic Dev'ment) And if you cannot perform you cannot get a second date. (i.e. no chance to bid on another commercial project)
I am wondering here, what about sewerage hook up fees for this Restaurant on MLK? I have mentioned this before.
I beleive it used to be a night club and it will now morph in a restaurant. Are they req'd to pay based on the number of seats? Remember when a woman wanted to change a retail store front on Grafton St into a landramat, she was hammered with sewer fees in the 10's of thousands. I think it was eventually lowered.
My point is that a change in the type of use of a retail site often entails new sewerage hook up fees. Let's keep an eye on this situation.
Same for the Hand It Over Theatre restaurant. That retail site used to have a ool hall, an opticians store and a few otehr things. They s/b req'd to pay sewer hook up fees if they change the use, such that more is discharged into teh sewer system.
What about change oF use from a hotel to a college dormitory......more DISCHARGE? BTW if your change of use results in less discharge there is no refund. These sewer feees are a single edged sword that only cuts one way.....which is more fees for more discharge but not less fees few less discharge
Also is a college dromitory an allowed zoning use in the Lincoln Sq area?
Do we know if thsi is part of one of those zoning overlay districts where they can basically put anything except a strip joint?
I'll betcha no one here remembers what "nightclub" was right at Main and Lincoln Sq back in the Mesozoic era and what it morphed into after it closed
comic strip, just a guess was it the night gallery?
