Lamb is novice. McGovern will mop the floor with him. Republicans may take the house but they will not take this seat.

if the house is taken Jim becomes a back bencher..AND THE Republicans give him nothing...

the reality is Worcester loses if we lose Congressman McGovern..Lamb will do nothing for Worcester..I just hope that a tight election moves Jim to the middle.I have mucho disagreements with Jim and the Woo Cabal but the alternative is nothing for Woo if Lamb is elected

Move Jim to the middle...surely you jest.........the man is a registered member in good standing of the Socialist Party........just ask Fidel or any other foreign dictator thug that he breaks bread with Jim.........Jim needs a serious reality check ..........he wants a Dept of Peace.........sure it sounds nice enough.......but I mean let's please be realistic......

You are correct he has a lock on this seat as it stands now...gerrymandered from Princeton Mass. all the way to Somerset Mass. where in the district 1/3 of the population is on a gubmint or a quasi gubmint payroll. We're sure to lose a congressional seat soon and hopefully with repubs in control of congress it s/b intersting to see how Jims district is re-drawn. What goes around comes around when it comes to gerrymandering

Hey did y'all see the SEIU was protesting the inauguration of Clarks new president....anyone see any local pols show up for that event.......i tend to doubt it.

Is it time to do away with county shriff fiefdoms in Mass. and just farm the entire prison system out to Corrections Corporation Of America......it seems to work well in other states and the price is definitely right. I mean how many more whiney House of Correction employee stories can we take. It seems like a once a month thing , some employee up there in W Boylston is whining about something...worse than a bunch of 13 years girls

IIRC, Massachusetts redraws the districts not the US Congress. With Olver expected to retire, I think you'll see Neal's 2nd Congressional distict boundary & McGovern's 3rd Congressional district boundary shift left to accomodate the retirement, minimzing the chances of someone knocking off an incumbent.

I think Congressman McGovern's constant anti-Republican rhetoric is gonna come back to bite him in the arse..being one of the most lib in Congress and one of the more vocal against Republicans...he will pay for this as will the residents of the District..politics is all about relationships and I am not sure the Congressman has ever reached across the aisle (I know his friend the Mayor of Woo refuses to)....partisan politics is great when your party is in power and it sucks when it is not....the day after I made the above comment the Boston Globe ran a front page story on how already there is talk about Congressman leaving the House in 2012 because they know Mass Congressman will all be back benchers....one thing about Ted Kennedy..he worked with Republicans and was friends with many..same with Tip O'Neil..these birds we have today are the Hatfields and the McCoys...in the end the people lose!

if Congressman McGovern does not move to the middle it will be a very long two years for him and if the Republicans maintain the House additional years..a prison sentence!

Congressman McGovern will never move to the middle. And the argument is he will do something for Worcester? What will he do? Force us into a healthcare system we don't want? Increase taxes on local Worcester business so they have less money to hire employees? Truth is, Jim has so alienated himself from the other side that they as the majority party are not going to be inclined to do anything for him. The day we start electing candidates because on what they can do for our country instead of on what pork they might bring to our district is the day we will start seeing better representation in Washington.
