Harry's letter to the editor

Following the recent collision of two Delta jets at Boston’s Logan Airport, famed pilot Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger went on CBS News to talk about the recent taxiway collision at Boston’s Logan International Airport and the growing concern over tarmac safety. Mr. Sullenberger stated this accident was most likely due to small, commuter airlines cluttering up the tarmac, and larger jets not being able to see them.

There is a simple solution here for Massport to avoid future embarrassments such as these and hopefully save lives in the process. Move the commuter air jets out from Logan to Worcester Airport and Hanscom.

Great letter from Harry T. and a very simple solution for Massport to improve safety at Logan. Now the million dollar question; will they listen?

If the past year plus of Massport's ownership of Worcester Airport is any indication, the answer will be NO.

just because worcester has an airport doesnt mean folks want to use it....there has to be more than forcing people here...give some reasons why...it is the end of July and I am trying to figure out what to do in this city....summer time and there is very little going on folks....I am going to buy a six pack and count the days to start on the street

sorry to crash yer thread harry....but breaking news....Gabe Rollins run for elective office has ended.....in the end the man with all the ideas about what others need to do to make Woo more than what it is had none for himself......originally applauded this but like his blogging...he folded when the debate began.....eventually we may get some new blood.willing to get in the trenches

Gabe is a nice guy and I applaud anyone who runs for office.

I was, however, disappointed when Gabe went silent with his blog during his election attempt.

That would have been the perfect way to keep people abreast of his efforts, his positions, etc.

Good luck Gabe

city needs people willing to put the work in to making it better....blogging is worth nothing if just bullshite...which is what most of worcester blogging is....lot of talkers few doers....running for political office requires some command of issues and hopefully undertaken by someone who has had some prior community accomplishments....not sUre Gabriel had either....he folded.like he did when callled on a issue he blogged about....popular guy....wooo needs more than popular guys and gals

What the city needs is for you to run Paul! Too late for this year's election cycle but your voice needs to be heard.

Paulie, i do think we need to realize it is the dogs days of july & august here in WOrc. Expect everthing to be dead for next 3-4 weeks. All the no vacancy signs are out on Rte 28 and Hampton Beach Blvd.

That said, do I think Worc needs improvement..absolutely as you all know all my issues with Worcester are financial or operational based and if anyone thinks a couple new buildings downtown are going to solve the problem or even be the start of a solution think again. UNless the old Bancroft Motors block is 100% market rate housing, City Sq is doomed and even 100% market rate housing may not be enough

As one recent letter to the editor said, the city celebrating a 2 story cancer building as a big win for City Sq. is a non starter. This aint downtown Hyannis, it's the 2nd largest city in NE

So Paulie get back to blogging then. And quit whining over Wee Will Woo Woo, or SMOC, or Common Ground. The city needs to have other voices out there, because the local blogs as you pointed out, really do suck. So get going.

i far from whine over wee will woo woo:) SMOC and WCG are in a hood I live in and invest in so any conversation I have on them is directly linked to my quality of life and financial interests ...so of course is something I am gonna talk about plus I am the pres of the local biz group and both SMOC & WCG are.on the agenda......wee will wooo wooo is not even tho I am a huge part of his life:}........I have to agree with Will Randell....not that much fun but not why I have been lame.....just to busy....business is booming and I am traveling alot also.....
