For the complete story from the Republican click here, but here is part of it:
CHICOPEE - Skybus Airlines' inaugural flight to Westover Metropolitan Airport this evening was greeted by a rainbow and plenty of fanfare.
The orange A319 jet touched down at 6:43 p.m., 10 minutes early. The discount passenger carrier, based out of Columbus, Ohio, is the first regular passenger service at the airport since the late 1980s.
"I think it's wonderful," said Steve A. Baldwin, of West Springfield, who was traveling with his wife, Carin D. Baldwin. "It's much cheaper."
Baldwin, who works for an Amish furniture maker, was traveling to Ohio State University and then on to Holmes County to tour several Amish furniture factories. Golf was also on his itinerary.
Skybus will offer once-daily flights to Columbus from Westover. The airline will offer 10, $10 seats on each flight. Other ticket prices range from $30 to $150 and are cheaper when reserved at least a month ahead of time

It would be interesting to know how Skybus choose Westover. Did Westover have a consulting firm seek potential airlines, Did Westover do their own search, or did Skybus approach Westover.
...or did Skybus watch the whole ORH/Allegiant fiasco from the sidelines and decide they wanted no part of that?

If I was Bradley, I'd be ripped that SKybus, on their website, lists this destination as:
Hartford (Chicopee)
IMO, that's a real stretch, even though it is a 35 minute (30 miles) easy ride down I-91
30 miles, 50 for that matter would qualify, have you ever been to denver?
I think this is a good thing..
I wrote skybus an email a few months ago suggesting bradley, i guess they went from that and found westover.
ANonymous #2 , if 50 miles doesnt make a difference ....we could just call ORH Boston then I guess??
Anonymous #3.... According to newspaper reports Bradley is losing passengers, maybe Skybus saw that and opted for Chic. Bradley is picking up smaller jet flights, per the newspaper.
