Allegiant 4th QTr Results

Executives at Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air said Wednesday that a 39 percent increase in fuel costs cut into fourth-quarter profits but the niche carrier still posted a double-digit margin for the year.

The low-cost vacation airline hauled in nearly $361 million in revenue for the year and made $44 million in profit, a margin of more than 12 percent. Allegiant stock rose 12 percent Wednesday, closing the day at $26.61 on the Nasdaq National Market. The stock, however, is still 18 percent lower than it was one year ago. Allegiant also announced a $25 million stock repurchase plan.

I attended the Raymond James conference yesterday and the audience was impressed with Gallagher's story...as usual. They've found a nice niche. He specifcillay said that they expect to be able to double their number of stations. I would expect that means a return to ORH at some point...

I highly doubt Allegiant would come back to ORH until MassPort or another entity takes over ORH.

I was incredibly high on this airline..pun intended:>) Watching the planes fly ovah my house made me feel like I was in a vibrant city.

I flew once to Sanford, Florida where my pal pick-up me up for the drive to New Smurna..was very impressed with the entire flight down and back.

I'm heading off to New Orleans in April for the New Orleans Jazz Festival and then Brittany in June for a wedding and it would be nice to fly out locally..I don't mind heading into Boston but flying out locally would be nice.

There just is not enough folks living in this city with any money for that airport to be successful tho..it's to bad

I think the city burned a bridge with Allegiant and I am sure that this bridge burning got out to other low cost carriers looking for locations

Allegiant was the perfect airline for ORH. We just had incompetent mght and they left in 9 mos, less then one year.

If we had competent mgmt like Rockford they would have stayed. What does it say when we received $445,000 grant from the FAA spent over $100,000 on a consultant and still have over $200,000 left. We should have spent all the monies on Allegiant.

Losing Allegiant scared very other carrier to even consider ORH. If Allegiant can not make it at ORH, how can we???

Right now Allegiant has 3 Florida locations, how nice would it be to drive one mile and catch a direct flight to Orlando (Sanford), Tampa (St Pete) or Fort Lauderdale.

I alway like the smalller airports..get in and out quick..this will be the second year in a row that I fly into Gulfport, MS for the New Orleans Jazz Festival..quicker and cheaper..I don't mind the hour drive to New Orleans.gives me a chance to relax and to check out the countryside.

It helps when you are a pilot and own your own plane george
