Pet Peeves

First I have many but there is a section of Murray Ave behind the Old Mart, currently Compare Foods, where you can always find a group of people drinking vodka and 40 oz beers out of their brown paper bags.

Drove by and noticed the sidewalks have been ripped up and being replaced. One I never noticed that they were too bad of shape to begin with. Imagine we could all find sidewalks in worse shape. Glad to see these people, however, will have brand new sidewalks to stand on when they drink their 40oz beers and vodka.

Thursdays pet peeve .....(I have one everyday in case no one noticed)

Navigating 290 East today I couldnt help but he almost blined by the glare coming off the roof of the new fire station on Franklin St.

An exquisite all copper roof. City has no money to photocpoy and redact names from public information requests......but we got money to burn for copper roofs on new fire barns..........

We taxpayers all have to settle for asphalt shingles on our houses......yet teh new fire house gets the cadillac of roofs installed.

Dittos for taxpayers only being able to afford vinyl siding.............yet the new fire station has brick veneer....which runs at least 12x what vinyl does.

Garage Mahal II.

I mean where does the extravagance end............and practicality begin

If the next poster tells me.....not to Worry Jahn.........the state & feds are paying 90% of the cost of the new station.......I'LL SCREAM!!!!!
