Currently there is no sales tax on Alcohol now there is one and it will be 6.25%. Assume you like to buy a case a beer for the week and it runs you $21 plus deposit and the total is 22.50. Now add 6.25% to the $21 and you have a sales tax of $1.31 so now your new total; is 23.81.
Bottom line is the cost to buy alcohol just went up 6.25%. New Hampshire must be lovin this.

Bill, add Mason St. RFP (institutional Linens site) that was won by Worc Common Grds and partners to the list of awarded (Sept, 2005) RFP's that have yet to come to fruition
Also Summer St old church ......(assuming here it was RFP'ed to owner who was supposed re-hab it)
Is the ground (no pun) floor of the parking garage at Worc Center Blvd and Central St also vacant or partially vacant.
I am thinking here, does anyone know of a parking garage in the area that has successful retail space on the 1st floor or any retail space at all? Seems to me the ones I can think of are parking garages on the ground floor as well as all the floors above it. Maybe I missed one? Maybe mixed use retail and parking garages just arent meant to be married to each other, at least not in worcester
Wonder if the RFP's states a minumum bid?? Bureaucrats always have a habit of under estimating costs and over estimating revenue or potential revenue streams?
Or as the saying goes...... may be it's just the economy.
I think Carr was saying yesterday that NH will be increasing tolls at the Mass/NH line?
Nuttin' like a captive audience of Mass Holes.
