dont you know there are more important issues facing the city besides the dam airport. we need an illegal immigrant sanctuary now! where??? well it least if it was at ORH we could then say there are plenty of people using the airport and maybe we might even reach the 10,000 mark making us eligible for a $1 million grant
Technically I can make a complaint to the DA's office with three signatures from citizens. At this point, I really do not think it makes sense and it is a waste of time.
Not being able to get any response from a person who is our airport liaison is quite indicative of the problems that plague ORH. Ironcially I am able to get in touch with and get answers from Airport Director O'Brien at Rockford Airport then I can from anyone at ORH.
you can be sure phil niddrie is not holding public information back on his own. He has to have checked with someone. I know him. He is a straight shooter. Maybe I'll call.
Did anyone notice in yesterdays ( aug 14) T&G legal notices that Massport is proposing legislation re airport security that would affect all their airport operatiosn including ORH? Anyone care to speculate that is will increase expenses and the resulting deficit at ORH. Why does Massport get to dictate secutiy guidelines at an airport they dontt even own....they only operate it.
The legal notice stipulated Boston - Logan, Handscome, & Worc airports. what ever happene dtot he idea that worc was to re named Boston- Worc airport? Arent we about a year down the raod from when that idea was first floated? Wonder what happened to it?
Mr randall, it was in tues. paper ............as I recall it was on left hand page..............far left colunm................thats allI can recall......will prob be in a gain as they often have to publish notice 2 or 3x ???
I keep bringing it up to show how unuser friendly the airport is. If it is unfriendly to a citizen blogger, I can guarantee you that it carries forward when dealing with tenants and airlines/
Well a year ago allegiant was unhappy tenant wise so they just voted with their feet. class action suit, you got to be kidding me. so what ever happeend to the restaurant that was at the airport a number of years ago. there was one right? are they also a tenant who voted with their feet and speaking of restaurants what ever happened to the proposed restaurant bid that was supposed to happen ages ago
I was speaking of more in terms of the current tenants. Obviously everything is ok.
allegiant's departure was unfortunate ,but was based on the fact they were not making any money from what I've read. I think they would have been a great cornerstone for additional commercial flights.

Yeah - right.
The airport rent-a-cops detained one of the OWNERS of an airport business because they caught him working on a plane without wearing his airport security badge around his neck.
Current tenents?? There is Amity, the repaid shop, a radio shop, someone bidding on a parcel of land that we do not know, an empty slot for a restaurant and a car rental agency. A class action lawsuit, how funny?? Spoken like a true bureaucrat.
How long has it taken to fix hangar 2?? From the board minutes it has been at least 6 months that insulation damaged an airplane and by the sound of it, the work is not complete. Wonder if there will be heat up there this winter??
I would be willing to bet "anonymous" that if he and I were to walk up to any of these current tenents and ask them how they feel about ORH mgmt, it would not be good.
christ almighty throw out a tenant you got to be kidding. who will be left nothing but a bunch of barney fifes and runway moose and deer. the reason you never hear anything about the new tenant coming is that they aint coming. they knew in june of 2006 during their big 10,000th passenger shindig that allegiant had one foot out the door and they played their cards close to the vest. would you show your hand of Jack high if didnt have to? no way the city is going all in with Jack high and it aint even a one eyed jack. keep bluffing by not disclosing
maybe mayor wannabe irish should go up to the airport with his T&G lackeys in tow and start taking pictures of dilapidated hangers and leaky roofs and boarded up control tower instead of having his picture taken in south worcester with 3 "deckers that appear to be on the verge of collapse" on grand st. if they are so then why isnt the city shutting these houses down? barbara haller is letting this happen on her watch on her 'hood? Irish should go over to the dpw yard off shrewsbury and take a look at the imploded salt storage sheds. wait till one collapses on dpw workers. it will injured on duty for life. bill take a ride down grand st and let us know how many 3 deckers there are on the verge of collapse truly yellow journalism at its worst while the city airport and dpw yard structures look like they were just carpet bombed
Ironically as Dennis Irish was complaing about the state of the buildings on Grand Street, a picture was taken and put in the Telegram. Who was right next to Dennis Irish?
Martin Mullany.
Who is that? The owner of all the properties in question. You can not make this stuff up.

What did the Attorney General say when you asked about the city's refusal to provide public information?

That's for the Open Meeting Law. This should be covered by the Public Records Law.
They're different.

So why do you keep bringing it up?

Who is unhappy tenant wise at the airport? They should speak up , file a class action lawsuit or speak to the media if an injustice is occurring.

If they're smart, they;ll keep their mouth shut, or find themselves thrown out, like a flight school about ten years ago.

Was reading the airport commission minutes and it looks like another tenant Swissport is active in participating in the direction of the meetings.
The other tenants should participate. It could promote a positive exchange of ideas
The radio repair shop got forced out of their offices of 30 years and were forced to relocate on the field
are you serious about the radio shop??
