Destination Worcester

This is the other organization through the Chamber of Commere. They could be very effective, I have no idea. By the looks of the website, however, they started a search on May 17th for a Sports and Events Sales Manager, but some 9 months later the job is still posted.

Looks like Linear Air will make a stop at ORH today.

I wonder if it is the VLJ

Flightware indicates it's a Cessa 208 Caravan.

Could be coming to discuss start-up operations at Worcester.

Cross your fingers!

Did you ever have a chance to call the Chamber about starting a Travel Bank?

Update on Linear Flight:

Hi Bill,

We did have an aircraft scheduled to arrive from Teterboro, NJ in Worcester today at about 11am, but it was a Cessna Grand Caravan, not an Eclipse 500. However, due to weather in both the NYC-area and Worcester our passengers decided to reschedule.

Any news on the Bolton interview?

At least they were willing to use Worcester Airport.

Still a good sign

Noticed on a wikipedia search on Worcester Airport that it stated Worcester official had contacted Skybus after Westover annouced their flights.

Maybe airlines are being contacted ,but no solid bites yet

Only in Worcester....

"Worcester official had contacted Skybus after Westover annouced their flights"

Contacting them BEFORE they announced in Westover would have been much more effective.

How is it that we supposedly didnt contact them BEFORE, given that Bill says we have spent a $100,000 on a consultant to attract & retain an airline?

Seems unusual?

I haven't had a chance to call any body yet.

"Bill says we have spent a $100,000 on a consultant to attract & retain an airline?"

That's what you get when you hire a cut-rate consultant. Someone who tells you what you should have done.

Hire a $200,000 consultant and you'll get one who will tell you what you should not do.

I'll tell you what. Gimme $300,000 and I'll tell you to do a study.

We have spent over $100,000 from the DOT Small Community Air Service Grant for IMG to help us retain and recruit an airline. We have not had any reports on what they have done.

The only mention of any airline talks was in Bob Nemeth's column two weeks ago, where he mentioned an Ohio start-up.

According to wikipedia...Skybus officially started in 2006 and is based out of Columbus,Ohio.

Could this be the "start-up" that was mentioned in the paper?

Wikipedia has great info.

Yes. Skybus.

a consultant is someone who can tell you 100 different ways to make love to a woman, but's never had a girlfriend.
