There is a new business on the corner of Pleasant and Bellevue. The other night I was driving by around 10:30PM and there had to be 20 people inside and another 30 people on the sidewalks. Anyone know anything about this place? On the downtown side of Pleasant Street closer to Ed Hyder.

I tend to doubt these gatherings will last too long. The 13 story tower opposite this new business will not put up with it...at which point thay can move 150 feet down the street the new pocket park at Pleasant & Winslow.
Could be aloooong hot summaaaaah.
Maybe El Delisico migrated 3 blocks east to Belleview & Pleasant St?
I'd be curious to see what the fee is for tax transfer stamps. What is it???........1/2 % of the selling price??.....or maybe the city is exempt fron deen transfer tax stamps........if so there is always the selling price mentioned in the deed ( or the alleged selling price?)
David, I did hear on the tadio this afternoon about traffic & a paving project right smack in the middle of the VOP.
I kinda expected I would have heard awhile ago about this from CBA or Pualie Hombre'.
Think of it as a non Worc Common Grd Piedmont Initiative.
I do see good intentions in the Village of Worcester. My biggeest beef is that my city is bankrupt to the tune of at least a 1/2 billion and it keeps growing every day and everyone has their heads in the sand about it.
Unlike you, I have seen too many new construction projects come to Worcester with great fanfare, accolades, Atta-boys, back slapping and all kinds of promises that yield no where near what was anticipated or expected.
My current bone of contention is The Hand It Over Theartre. All kinds of huge donors, all kinds of huge taxpayer subsidies, tax exempt real esate, a special walkway, and who knows what else......2 1/2 years now since the doors open..........and the benefits have yet to be seen and their restaurant is probaly awaiting another tax payer bailout.
You can say that I am from Missouri as re Worc's future. Right now I also am from Missouri re City Sq II. You know I wonder why it is called City Sq II. We never had a City Sq I.
The City has been in a tailspin since the mid to late 1970's. Are we turning the corner. Yes probably.
I will be buying a ticket to NOLA fest. Correct, I will not be there. I get mandated summertime vacations just like the IAFF. Vacation time means Worcester is in the rearview mirror.
TUSH on Green Street has gone out of business..unless it moved elsewhere that I am unaware of
Green Street looks real ratty..high grass around the trees..some weeding and colorful mulch would go a long way..
As I stated before and before and before (not a naysayer Gary R)...that end of Green Street or any end is not ready for a high end restaurant lick Block 5 was and TUSH was..high end folks not visiting this part of the city yet in mass...and I relate to the early beginnings of Davis Square in "The Ville"..and I can speak with some knowledge on this as I was one of the first in Davis Square back in the mid 80's with my first RE management office
this may be the first resurfacing of Chandler Street in 20 years..I have been here almost that long and I can not recall another time that this was done..
I'd be curious to know if this is state money or city money paying.... ask b/c I am not sure if this Rte 122 or 122A? Is just cold planing or a complete grind? Contractor?
Let's hope at least the binder is in place by tomorrow....nuttin quite like a new layer of macadam to burn out on.

I went by there today. There is a banner hanging over the site stating coming soon Franklin Square Restaurant financed by Bay State Savings Bank. It looks like there is no need for a tax payer bailout.

Jahn, I have to ask. Do you ever see the good in anything that goes on in Worcester?
The city is even paving Chandler Street in the "Village of Piedmont". Just in time for Paulie’s NolaFest where everyone will be except of course you.
