Great concept and idea. I have mentioned this before but when you drive the Burwick or May Street project, tell me if you recognize any local contractors. I drive by these projects every day and I have yet to notice one local contractor.

Last tome I looked, the Financing on WGC's new duplex house on Mason St was provided by a Butler Bank....I think it was from the general Lowell area?
Finance Local...??
BTW how is buy Worc now coming along? "Sloganeering" can only carry you so far.
Spekaing of which Worcester/Boston Metro Airport??
The Paris of the 90's (or was it the 80's) has now morphed into the closed up Paris Cinema??
City on the move (to becoming the nationwide per capita leader of LIH ???).
You are right about CVS. One would think that after these projects, like May and Burwick, take City of Worcester HOME funds that they would hire local contractors? Jahn, you are right it would fit in with City Manager O'Brien and his Buy Worcester Campaigh and the Buy Local campaign.
Seriously, does anyone know any local contractors working either of these projects. Combined they have to be approximately 25,000,000 to 30,000,000.
Paulie, I think you re correct, Botany Bay is doing/did the site work.
It' s either Walgreens or CVS that seems to regularly use a company called Pitt Pipeline from NH to do their site work.
I think it prob. has more to do with who the General Contractor is on the job.
It's good to have a guy like MOB as CM, given that he's got some good exp. in private sector constr. We need more city bigwigs who havent just worked their way up via politics and/or gov't jobs to attain their current position.
