Should a group of computer science majors from WPI be recruited to either re-do or remake the airport website from scratch.
This would benefit all parties involved, would be a great PR project for WPI, would be considered a form of town/gown cooperation, and possibly give new meaning to the term PILOT program/payment. Programming In Lieu Of Taxes.
ORH could at least use this as starting point for a new website. If egos get bruised, so be it.
Absolutely. I was on a task force to analyze the PILOT program. We came up with a bunch of great ideas how the non-profits could contribute to the city w/o having to pay taxes including things like this.
As a result the UniverCity Partnership was created. In theory we should call them and ask for help but maybe they could call and get help with their website which has shown nothing for months.
