You gotta love that , huh?! Labor... currently high unemployment rate ... materials ... cut rate prices ... land ....real estate depressed market ... how did the price manage to double when land, labor and material costs are in a free fall- DOWNWARD ?!?!?!?!?!??!
Someone want to enlighten me?

Again this was only a rumor, but may explain why the building has not been built yet?
Bill
Harry it's called the Prevailing wage law. All gub'mint projects have to pay prevailing wage, which in reality means Union job (Except low income housing jobs).
Where do we start this monring?
1. Rojas Case...........city about to be handed their proverbial head Plus atornesy costs??? In the private sector
2. Mr Richard Chernisky ...one month premature in letters to the editor. Bill will prob soon publish it here? Mr Chernisky usually gets a T&G spot once quarterly...last time was mid November........looks like they moved him up a month. Kudos to you Mr Chernisky.
3. Nelson Place school falling down again. Bill, Imagine if the facade was continually falling off your building and many fixes later the problem still persisted. Imagine further that elementary school kids frequetned your building 180 days per year. The city inspectors would be all over you like a cheap suit, your building would be condemned and vacant, and they would evenutsally raze it if you didnt. Is anyone else fed up with dounble standards for the city.....
4. And what's not in the paper today ..........WTH is the school committee re plans for making up lost school days?? They must be asking the teachers how they want it done...........when they s/b seeking input from the customers (parents of kids)..and then deciding IMMEDIATELY how to handle this issue
