Time to dump some of this garabge in Jim Mcgoverns neighborhood.....maybe grab soem land from Quinsigamond C.C. ....and toss up a couple dozen units under Jimmys nose

Bill so you're thinking they're going to destroy the character of the newly built North Worc Office park or what ever it is they call that area now.........I got a suspiciion WPI will do all they can to not let it happen.

Fire alarm building is so far gone, it's pitiable....christ they got the leaning brick facade bolted to the wooden superstructure at teh upper gable level.......wait until the brick wall pulls away a little more and begins to rack the wooden frame and mayeb even eventually puled it right over...........place s/b condemmed just like the salt shed on CLark St s/b but it wont be b/c the city is exepomt from the newly enacted Nuisance ordinance

Fire alarm builingg should garage one of the Umass ambulances......just as the old Prov st fire station will be doing.........that way we wont need IAFF'ers roaring down Park Ave with a 20 ton noise polluting rig everytime my aunt Mabel slips and falls over in Elm park........

Funny you say that baout WPI

Lee Street School went out to bid last year. WPI bid on it and won. I was kind of surprised that they bought it.

Maybe they were more afraid of what might go in there and bought it.

Once again, GREAT expose ... Worcester Arts District and Canal District now getting turned into no/lo inc's. Do you think this would ever have happened under Buddy Cianci's watch in Providence?

I'm all for helping people, but give them the 2 prime redevelopment areas? What happens when the MBTA finally starts rolling the every hour on the hour trains to/from Boston? You need professionals living/working in the canal district/arts district to capitalize on that ... if the no/lo incs have that housing/properties locked up ...then why bother?

Once again....I'm every bit for helping people ...but giving away the farm just doesn't make sense...

Excellent reporting!

we gave the farm aka neighborhoods away a very long time ago Harry..it's reclaiming them that is the problem..how can we reclaim them if we keep adding to the already saturated crop of non-producing citizens?

Am I the only one who drives around the city and from all cornahs and am just seeing lines of mummy dummies walking about.
