I was listening to Peter Blute this morning and he said he had Ed Warnick on again yesterday. Direct Air is running a half-price promotion through Midnight tonight that can be used anytime within the next year.
They may have scaled back flights for the summer, however, they suspended service completely in some cities for the summer. With that in mind, I would venture to say it's not that bad.
Dave z stated he heard they were running a haf-price promotion last through midnight (one day/night) Could Direct Air be testing the waters to see how many people buy tickets and then make a decision based on that to scale back flights?
In any event a question to ask is has enough passengers gone through the gates to get a Fed grant for 2009 for future monies to be spent on attracting new airlines and for advertising?
FYI, Florida flight today full with 2 extra people who couldnt even get tickets. Heard that a 50% off sale was in effect and extended until monday....heard sales were very good
It's more like 292-300 gallons. Aircraft fuel is calculated by lbs for weight and balance purposes. 2000 gallons of fuel would weigh close to 14,000lbs. Plane would have a hard time handling that plus passengers and baggage.

On what??
Quite a while ago you felt they were getting their planes recalled by Virgin America. Is that it?

My gut tells me they're not going anywhere.

Direct Air just extended the half price deadline to Monday night.

LAst I knew jet fuel was $5-$6 per gallon in 2007. So what is it now.
Did Allegiant claim it was 2000 gallons to S. Fla? 2000 gallons x $5 = $10,000 just for jet fuel
120 passengers (if full) x $40 = $4800 in revenue for the flight and arent some planes only 100passngers?
Ok so correct my numbers if need be.............
Direct Air should run for office on beacon hill if thsi is how they run things?
