NRSA Monies & Pools
The NRSA is a great program. Why don't we look toward the NRSA that have pools within their NRSA to open their own pool? For example, South Worcester NRSA could use their monies to open the pool on Camp Street?

I like your thinking...but you are not going far enough.......how about all the CDC's step up to the plate. I noticed a few days ago the pool at Holmes Field on Plantation St just above the old fire barn......i swear the brick was pulling away fromthe wall of teh bathhouse.will look more closely later today.

Can we cut Teasdales salary to pay for the pools...??? Same for Paton over at Worc Common Ground. How about Germaine ponies up some of his alleged 137,000 so called disablity pension. We can not cut Mc Mahon over at Dismas house b/c he says he only makes 42,000 there......can any of his clientele pass a red croos life guard certification course......we could use a few free life guards.
BTW, i think all pools should charge a user fee, too. Let's just hope the pool employees dont use it all up with fruadulaent overtime requisitions.

Dave from Dismas House has raised money to improve the Holmes Field and I believe it includes the pool area that you are referring to.

We also have ooodles of building trades people out of work right now. Why cant we tap the local union halls for what ever construction trades we need to get the pool sites up to snuff....maybe even re build one of the ones that will be closed all summer. Sure beats hanging around doing nothing all day if you're an out of work mason or carpenter.
Can Mcgovern go to the unions halls with his hand out. I dont see why not as he's very tight with these folks.
Dont we also have alot of teachers out of work all summer, many of whom are always asking others to pony up money "for the children". CAn some of them give up one of their 6 weeks of R&R down in South Yarmouth or Dennisport......"FOR THE CHILDREN"
iF i CAN THINK OF THESE POSSIBLITIES.....WHY CANT OUR COUNCILORS AS A COLLECTIVE group come up with these or similar ideas?
What about Glodis's Guys,too.....for the trades work to be done?
Many of these groups are too interested in landing the new low to mod income building project so they can skim development fees. Taking a portion of their NRSA monies and working to find creative ways to open the pools brings them no additional revenues.
So basically the neighborhoods be dammed, we just want our 15% (?) dev'ment fee????

SO bill, hows that new sales tax on alcohol looking? Certainly making a trip to Cow Hampshire all the more profitable for those Mass residents who are into transshipping. Can't blame them. Grab some cigs and some petrol at the same time.
In central mass it hurts, but we survive. If you own a store up North, you are dead. Just that simple..
Do me a favor next time you talk to a smoker ask them where they buy their cigs?
The neighborhood groups would rather buy parcels of land or clear them for future potential low to mod housing sites so they can get development fees. They should use their NRSA monies to open the pools.
