Add My Wife to the List

My wife was up at 4:30 AM today waiting for the Worcester Limo to drive her to Boston to catch a JetBlue flight to Fort Lauderdale to visit her mom and brother. Allegiant to Fort Lauderdale would have been perfect. For the 102nd time. we lost out big time when Allegiant. Picture of my wife's plane above from the Logan terminal.

PS Flight was $79 each way. with taxes $89.

Today's Telegram-
"Mr. O’Brien told the City Council last night that he is not considering implementing a hiring freeze as a way to offset the growing snow-removal deficit because he feels such a move would be counterproductive".

Or the employees could work a full 8 hours

I agree starting with the trash haulers .......the striker on the rear of truck is done at 1130am ...... I beleive they start at 700am or maybe it's 730am......The driver is done at 1200 noon b/c he has to take the last (2nd?)load of trash out to the incinerator.... also the striker gets a 30 to 45 minute coffee break (depending on where they are picking up in the city) while the driver takes the 1st load of trash to the incinerator. The only exception to this routine is Christmas week when the wrapping paper being disposed of results in a longer work day.

Meanwhile the Waste Managemnet recycle drivers are out until at least 400pm and sometimes until 500pm....with only 1 man on a truck.

I challenge Mr Moylan to loacte his trash haulers between 1200 noon and 330 pm......and dont give me this "Florida Plan" baloney (hope I am using the correct term here) trash pick up plan that they all hide behind.......which basically says this is your route and when you're done you're done..............the routes clearly s/b enlarged resulting in longer workday....&.... less labor and vehicles and fuel to pick up trash daily.

I once was told there is a job called city messenger.....not sure exactly what the job entails........but i could probably guess.........teh job evidently was necessary back in the day before telephpnes....faxes....emails.......etc... I heard the person(s) who hold the job basically hide all at certain haunts around the city, b/c they have little or no work to do........maybe some one else here knows more about this "job" and can enlightem us more?

PLEASE THEY PAY SOMEONE $65,000 PER YEAR TO BE A LIASON TO MR. PARK
INCASE SOMEDAY HE DECIDES TO BUILD CITY SQUARE.WHAT DO THEY DO UNTIL THEN. THE CITY SOLD A CHURCH ON SUMMER ST. FOR $100 DOLLARS WITH THE CONDITION SET THAT THIS PROPERTY WOULD BE REHABED AND GENERATE NEW TAXES. AFTER TWO YEARS AND NO WORK THE PROPERTY WAS SOLD FOR $350,000 WITH NO REHAB AND THE CITY CAUGHT SLEEPING. NO ONE IS EVER TO BLAME. WE ARE PROBABLY THE ONLY CITY IN THE COUNTRY THAT HAS A CONVICTED VOTER FRAUD SERVING AS CHAIRMAN OF A MAJOR CITIZEN BOARD

What about the house on Lake St (off Main St at Webster Sq. Burger King) that the city mistakenly razed in the mid 90's. I know the place was an absolute dump.......so luckily for the city they prob. got out of it for short money. Ya suppose anyone was held accountable? Six cops cost the taxpayers $100,000 per the T&G a couple weeks ago.....anyone held accountable??

What do you suppose they'll do with all the building inspectors who now (or soon) will have a much lighter work load when new construction spending comes to an almost complete halt for the next 8years. Oops I forgot.....there will still be lots of new low income housing to inspect

Took 9-10 yrs for the Mass. housing bust that started in 1989 to come full circle......and now we got a nationwide bust.

When benefits are added in that $65,000 salary becomes over $80,000.

BREAKING NEWS

In a stunning reversal of fortunes, famed (and heretofore considered dead) aviator Howard Hughes has been brought back to life. Through the use of a new advanced life science known as "thawing", his cryogenically frozen body has taken to moving again.

The billionaire Mr. Hughes announced immediately that he will be converting all of his RCA shares into cash so he can buy NASA. At that point, he will relocate Kennedy Space Center to Worcester Regional Airport.

In a prepared statement, Mr. Hughes stated that "only a moron builds an airport at the top of a foggy hill. Luckily the same people who built the thing were smarter than the people who now manage it. I bought the who kit-and-caboodle for a couple hundred worthless TWA stock certificates".

Asked who he would like as an FBO, Hughes responded "Swissport? What the damnation is a Swissport? Do you land crappy cheese there? No, no, we're going to have Americans pumping that gas."

More details to follow at 11.
