I will still buy my beer, fireworks, cigs, and possibly even large ticket taxable purchases in Cow Hampshire...........but in fairness and full disclosure Cow Hampshire makes no mention of the fact that teh property taxes on an 1,100 sq ft ranch house are probably around $6,000.

I wonder how much on personal property tax revenue Diamond Chevrolet will take with them when they leave WOrc on 1-1-10. There has to be $2M (guessing here) in inventory on that lot at any one time...$2M is only 100 caaahs at $20,000 each....and there gotta be more 100 caaahs there??? I know the donut shoppe across the street does lotsa bizz with Duddies Salesmen......

BIll is Diamond on "the List" of the departed or soon to be departed?

Diamond in theory should pay $28.72for every $1000 in vehicle inventory plus every desk, chair, lift, coffee maker, etc. at their location although this is not an exact science thankfully or they would have left sooner! They would also pay excise tax for all their company owned vehicles of which I know they have quite a few that they deliver parts and any tow/ramp vehicles they have. Rumor for about 6 months has been that a grocery store is going in. Let's do the math... someone will likely rip down the Diamond building and file for an abatement so it can sit for several years with a lower bill before construction starts...

Beth do we know if Berkely has been given a pass/waiver on their property taxes for the supposedly soon to be demolished Worc center and attached parking garage and if they were......werent they also supposed to have been building City Sq by a date certain?
