Worcester budget

I read this the other day in the newspaper:

"The city has funded $725 million of its pension obligations, which exceed 1 billion.  Mr O'Brien said Worcester currently has no trust fund for the $765 million in other benefits it owes retirees, such as health coverage"

In other words we are short $275 million toward the pension and the whole $765 million for other benefits for a grand total of $1,030,000 shortage.  That is wrong the number is

1,030,000,000

Those six hundred thousand dollar CDC three decker projects are all over city. My good blogging pal,Peter C. Kush could ramble on about the economic value to the CDC's, unions and pols....I meant City of Worcester all day long!

Peter C. Kush couldn't pull eight cents out of his pocket to do one of these projects but he could ramble on and on and on................

Any truth to the street rumor that my other blogging pal, Zed is about to be pushed out of the anonymous category?

Beautiful day in the Elm Park-Lincoln Estates neighborhood - nice morning walking around saying hello to our neighbors and encouraging the students to just be themselves.

Claude, during tomorrows St Pats day Parade will you have a special Urinator Terminator Patrol on alert in your 'hood and will this possibly necessitate calling in the Guardian Angels from NYC?

BTW, with the snow cover gone that stuff has lotsa nitrogen which is great for your lawn. I even saw a bumper sticker today saying, Got Nitro.

Who recalls a while back when the city had to call in the Masspike snowplows b/c Park Ave was so buried? Worcester didnt want any yellow snowbanks remaining after the parade so they just had MaSSPIKE plow em all b4 the parade. Dittos for Strawberry Boones Farm snow banks.
