Why has it not opened yet? Anyone know???
I have been told it has something to do with their occupancy permit?? Strictly unconfirmed, but something along the lines if they get an occupancy permit now they need to pay taxes for the whole year but if they wait until January 1st--they will save alot of money????
Again strictly rumor. Anyone out there know what is going on.

Bill,
I'm not privy to any inside information as to why they have not opened yet. Could it be that they have a lease at the old location down the street until 12/31/2010?
That sounds like a reasonable explanation to me. I do know that it is set to open in January 2010 so CVS has already made the decision to wait. Probably for the reason you just gave.
Dave:
You are right they do have a lease at the Park Ave location near Pleasant but I am told that it extends way beyond 1/1/2010
Bill
Maybe there was an opt out clause with their present landlord beginning on 1/1/2010.
Maybe Berkley Investments can buy the old CVS near Pleasant then create a vibrant mixed use district and restore the street grid similar to what they did with the former Galleria several years ago.
Hee hee anonymous!
I will miss having a CVS within spitting distance, but I won't miss the floor that goes up and downhill randomly...
Who the hell cares?? Is Worcester suffering some kind of pharmacy shortage? Are you kidding me? They never should have built it in the first place - NOBODY NEEDS IT WALGREENS IS RIGHT THERE.
